Austin, TX (PRWEB) December 22, 2014

Olea Networks today announced the availability of their next generation VAN mobile gateways that offer an updated, smaller form factor and easier serviceability. Olea LINCWorks products provide computing power and connectivity at the Edge of the network, enabling data processing as well as connectivity via cellular, Wi-Fi, mesh and Ethernet. One new capability of the LINCWorks VAN is easier access to internal Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards and wireless radios so devices can be switched to different carriers or easily added to existing billing plans. The new internal design significantly simplifies serviceability of the unit, dramatically reducing maintenance time.

With its GPS-integrated capabilities, the new VAN design allows network and application administrators to control individual units, perform maintenance, deploy applications and track units more efficiently with integrated, near real-time mapping integration. The GPS information can be displayed in both remote and local applications, as well as on Google Maps and Google Earth. The tracking is also variable-natured, so that fixed deployments can update location tracking less often than mobile units. The LINCWorks VAN, combined with Oleas new EDGEWorks remote management interface, offer feature-rich capabilities for users and administrators, increasing productivity and reducing downtime.

We are very pleased with the new form factor of our VAN devices said Dave Mackie, CEO of Olea Networks. Based on feedback from our customers, we have not only been able to create a smaller device with an improved design, but to add as well broader capabilitiesincluding GPSwhile reducing the overall cost of the unit.

The intelligent operating network allows each VAN unit to more effectively process application data over a private network, keeping users connected and information secure in remote areas. Aggregate data enables a command center to get a full picture of deployments, allowing for faster, actionable insights and more effective response times to enhance productivity.

Device and data security also feature prominently in the new LINCWorks VAN, as users IPsec Virtual Private Networks (VPN) will function and remain secure no matter which connectivity option is employed: cellular, Wi-Fi, mesh or Ethernet. This proprietary VPN technology isunlike competitive productsnot reliant on the cellular network, empowering any source of internet connectivity to maintain the VPN. This approach to security enables tighter superior application monitoring and policy management for improved data billing and services management.
